2006 Allegrini Palazzo della Torre

2006 Allegrini Palazzo della Torre, Corvina/Rondinella, Veronese
Color: Beautiful dark red, crystal clear clarity.
Nose: Dark cherry and pomegranate. Funk of smoke, black pepper, and rosemary. No noticeable alcohol on the nose. Aromatically challenged though. Hard to distinguish nose
characteristics.
Taste: Good mix of dark fruits such as cherries, blackberries, a little pomegranate makes its way from the nose; overall good mix of supple and round dark fruit, explosive on the front
palate. Back palate of black pepper, and a little salty tang at the end. Thin mid palate flavor.
Acidity: Medium
Density: Medium
Finish: Medium, around 30 seconds
Alcohol: 13.5%
Notes: Mouthfeel seemed a little thin and watery. The length of flavor was a little shorter than expected although some of the fruit was dried Amarone style. Flavors of the fruit are spot on
on the front palate which lends a distinguished deliciousness factor. Low on the tannin structure, doubt this could age well. Got another bottle to see if it can. Could have scored really well
if the front palate transitioned to the mid palate better. Being generous with my score.
Rating: 90 (GV-89, RP-90) $19.99
