My Father No.1 Robusto by Jaime & Pepin Garcia

My Father No.1 (5.2x52)
Wrapper: Habano Rosado/Criollo (Ecuador)
Binder: Nicaraguan- Esteli Valley
Filler: Nicaraguan- Esteli Valley
Price: $10.00

A light brown, hybrid tobacco wrapper swaths this stick of Nicaraguan filler and binder. Great looking cigar except for some prominent veins, excellent construction. Smells floral on the prelight, and the dry draw is easy with a touch of tightness to it.

Cigar lit and burned evenly from the start, and gave off a peppery kick. Good creamy smoke eminates from its semi-tight draw. Has some earthiness akin to Cuban cigars. The 2nd third, cedar flavors come through with a continuance of delicious floral aromas. Stays smooth through last third with creamy smoke, amping up the power at the end of the stick.

Overall, Medium to full bodied. The nicotine caught me only at the very end making my head swim a bit. This is a superb cigar, complex through and through. Pepin fans will love this. #3 Cigar of the Year 2009 by Cigar Aficionado. A tribute cigar from Jaime Garcia to his father Jose Pepin Garcia.

Score: 93-94
